Helsinki (Sir Real's peace brutality remix)

I was asked by my good friend David Picking to do a remix of a track called 'Helsinki' by his band Echo Monster. The original was a subtle and light of touch dub track. I decided to approach it in two different ways. The first way was to just do it very quickly, and with little thought as to where I was going with it, using only manipulated elements from the original track.

The result is what you hear here...a fairly brutal, no-nonsense 'club techno' affair. I ummed and ahhed for a bit about polishing it up, maybe adding some more 'ear candy', and decided against it. I like its brutal simplicity, and the straightforwardness of the arrangement, and think it would work well on the floor.

The second approach will be my more usual, considered one (which will inevitably take a lot longer). Will post results here as and when it is completed.
